Elite Resource Team Founders:

With over 33 years of combined financial industry experience, Ken Smith and Anton Anderson joined forces to build Elite Resource Team. Their goal was simple: build a better model to produce better results.

Kenneth Smith, Managing Partner

Ken began his career in 1993 working with Lincoln National. He graduated from Tampa College with a degree in Management and Marketing. After starting his own financial advisory firm in 1994, his focus shifted to financial planning with a tax mitigation emphasis. In 2003, he developed an expertise in tax efficient retirement planning, which allowed him to maintain his position in the top 1% of all financial professionals. In total, he qualified in the top 1% for 18 straight years of his career. In 2010 he accepted that there was a dramatic change going on in the financial planning arena and began working with CPAs. He currently resides in Laguna Hills, CA with his wife Fariba. Outside of work, he enjoys church and working out. He is also an accomplished public speaker and has given talks to tens of thousands of people over the years.

Anton Anderson, Managing Partner

Anton began his career in 2003 with Smith Barney while studying business. He graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara in the top 3% of his class. In 2008 he co-founded SPL Financial, which grew into a thriving practice. He has developed a diverse career as an investor, advisor, and CPA consultant. Anton is a published author, and has lived in the United States, Australia, and the United Kingdom. He currently resides in San Diego, CA. Outside of work, he is a competitive surfer, avid public speaker, and is involved in numerous charitable organizations. He is also the co-founder of SAND (Surfing And Network Developing), and member of STAR (Strategic Trusted Advisors Roundtable) where he serves as the Membership Committee Chair.

Dominique Molina, CPA, CTC – President, American Institute of Certified Tax Coaches

Ms. Molina is the co-founder and President of the American Institute of Certified Tax Coaches (CTC). Dominique has successfully licensed more than 400 tax professionals as Certified Tax Coaches across the country, creating a national network of highly qualified professionals who provide proactive services for their clients. She is also a three time Amazon Best Selling author, discussion leader for the AICPA, and instructor for continuing professional education courses.

Michael Frost, Heritage Advisors LLC - RIA

Prior to co-founding Heritage Advisors, Michael spent his career as a wealth manager and investment advisor for a few of the most prestigious financial Institutions. After years spent with Merrill Lynch, Michael realized he wanted to bring Wall Street to Main Street and opened his own Registered Investment Advisory Firm in 2011 and aligned himself with the sophisticated planners at Nelson Law Firm. With an emphasis on true independent non-bias financial services, Michael brings his experience in investment management, financial planning, private banking, investment banking, insurance plan design and special financing needs to the Heritage team.

Ralph Nelson, JD, CPA - Advanced Tax Mitigation

Ralph is a licensed attorney and Certified Public Accountant. Ralph is one of the founders of Heritage Advisors. Prior to establishing Heritage Advisors, Ralph was a practicing tax attorney focused primarily on income tax strategies. Ralph worked for Deloitte and Touche, LLP in its Mergers and Acquisitions group before joining a Phoenix-based tax firm. Ralph currently works primarily with small business owners and high-income taxpayers to develop income tax and estate tax strategies.

Donald S. Feldman, CExP™, CPA, CVA, ABV, MBA.

Donald S. Feldman is the founder of Keystone Business Transitions, LLC, a firm based in Lancaster, PA devoted to exit and succession planning for business owners. He has been a CPA for 25 years and a valuation professional for 20 years. For the last 15 years, Don’s practice has focused exclusively on succession and exit planning for business owners, including transfers of business interests to family members and key employees, as well as sales to outsiders. Don has been awarded the designation Certified Exit Planner™ by the Business Enterprise Institute. Don holds a joint M.S. in Accounting / M.B.A. degree from Northeastern University.

David Cechanowicz, CLU, ChFC, AIF, Social Security Timing

Mr. Cechanowicz has testified before the Internal Revenue Service on distribution issues for qualified plans and has been an expert witness in federal court on life insurance matters and in a Financial Industry Regulatory Authority securities arbitration matter. He’s also taught classes for the Chartered Financial Consultant® designation and helped the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards write exam questions.

Cary Potter, Oracle Capital
Business Valuation

Mr. Potter has performed financial analyses and valuation opinions regarding business entities, options, profit interests, derivatives, and intangible assets for over 20 years. He serves as a Managing Director for Oracle Capital and spent the last eight years at KPMG as a specialist to valuation clients and audit teams in Southern California, Boston, Chicago, Las Vegas, Silicon Valley, Germany, and the United Kingdom.

Alex Bellini, Aurora Capital
Premium Finance

Mr. Bellini is a consultant for ACA, helping run one of the most successful premium finance platforms in the industry. In addition, Alex has founded and continues to be active in two software companies since the mid 2000s and has studied at both the undergraduate and graduate levels at the University of San Diego. He is a chair member of the FPA San Diego, a CA DOI educator, and a CFP Board CE educator, teaching courses on Retaining Capital Through Premium Financing and Removing the Greed from Premium Financing - A Fee-Only Approach.

Joel Grushkin, Cost Segregation Initiatives (CSI)

Mr. Grushkin is Regional Director of Cost Segregation Initiatives (CSI). Joel brings nearly 40 years of executive experience to the CSI organization. His background includes 11 years with Arthur Young & Company (now Ernst & Young) as a Principal and director of the firm’s Management Services Practice. His cost segregation experience has encompassed studies for developers and owners of commercial real estate, including but not limited to, office buildings, shopping centers, manufacturing and distribution centers, specialty medical facilities, automotive dealerships, hotels, restaurants, financial institutions, multi-family residential, and senior living communities.

Martin Staubus, Esq., Beyster Institute
Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOPs)

Mr. Staubus is the executive director of the Beyster Institute, part of the Rady School of Management at UC San Diego, where he advises business leaders on the design and operation of employee stock ownership programs to build stronger companies and provide liquidity to owners. Martin has 30 years of experience in business, having served in varied roles as an attorney, consultant, Labor Department policy advisor, corporate executive, and corporate director. He has served as Associate Director of the ESOP Association in Washington DC and as a director of the National Center for Employee Ownership.

Keith Langlands, CPA, Synergy Captives

Mr. Langlands is President and Managing Partner of Synergy Captive Strategies (SCS). Mr. Fisher joined Inland in 2005 as a regional sales representative. He was promoted to Vice President in 2006 and to First Vice President in 2009. Mr. Sorensen has been in the securities and insurance business for over thirty years. He has worked for full service Wall Street firms and spent six years overseas heading an institutional trading desk for an international bank. Mark is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Royal Fund Management, LLC, a SEC Registered Investment Adviser.

Giselle Fortier
Executive Assistant

Giselle began her career in 2008 working in various administrative roles in law firms after graduating with a degree in Criminal Justice from San Diego State University. She most recently was employed in the legal department of a spinal device company and has developed a strong career as an Executive Assistant. At ERT she assists in coordinating numerous aspects of internal operations. Giselle was born and raised in a small coastal town in Maine and has resided in San Diego since 2004. Outside of work, she is an avid runner, enjoys yoga, traveling, photography, and her three puppies.

Ashley Tonelli
Life Insurance Case Manager

Ashley began her career in 2006 working at MetLife. In 2007, she decided to make the cross-country move from Connecticut to sunny San Diego to further her insurance career where she then spent 9 years at LPL Financial mainly focusing on Underwriting and Sales as an Advanced Case Consultant. Ashley joined ERT in 2016 and is currently our in-house Life Insurance Specialist. Outside of work, she enjoys cycling, wine tasting, spending time with her German Shepherd, Maverick, and cheering on her beloved New England Patriots.

Christi Schatzberg
Annuity Case Manager

Christi started her career in Financial Services in 2009 after graduating from San Diego State University with a degree in Economics. She has been in the industry for the past 8 years, working for brokers dealers such as Mass Mutual and LPL Financial before joining us here at Elite Resource Team. Her most recent role with LPL was as an Annuity Consultant where she became the product expert on all available products including VAs, FIAs, fixed annuities, SPIAs, and DIAs. She brings a wealth of knowledge on the annuity industry as a whole. Additionally, Christi holds her Series 7, 66, and 24 securities licenses as well as the California Life & Health license. Christi was born and raised in San Diego and enjoys spending her free time traveling, running, and hiking.

Michael Apollonsky
Marketing Coordinator

Michael Apollonsky started his career in 2004 by offering internet marketing solutions to financial companies, product infomercial retailers, and online lead generation services. He graduated from San Diego State University with a degree in Marketing and gained a wealth of experience in traditional advertising. After re-evaluating the market, Michael shifted his focus to online marketing and native advertising. His strengths include lead generation, promotional campaigns, and overall online presence. Michael came moved to the US from Ukraine in 1998 and currently resides in San Diego, CA. He enjoys playing volleyball and tennis and spending time with his wife and daughter.

James Sanford
ERT Sales Manager

James began his career in 1995 as a financial advisor with The Teacher Consulting Group in San Diego after graduating with a degree in Business Management from the University of Southern Colorado. In 2000, he founded his own boutique real estate and investment company called JD Consolidated Real Estate LLC. The primary focus of his business was to help his clients gain financial independence by repositioning their portfolios with proven real estate strategies. James joins ERT with a strong marketing, business development, and direct sales background. He is also an expert in raising capital for joint venture and investment projects. Outside of work, James is a motivational speaker, attends church, enjoys working out, and playing sports. He currently resides in Long Beach, California.
